sign upWhen communicating about safe abortion and post-abortion care, it’s important that the language, examples and imagery that we use are both accurate and avoid stigmatizing women or providers.
To support organisations and providers to communicate service delivery, clinical trials and potential symptoms effectively, Gynuity staff and consultants have developed an image bank, stocked with accurate imagery related to safe abortion and post-abortion care.
To develop the bank, Gynuity collaborates with local artists from the countries they work in to develop medically accurate imagery. These images are then adapted for other contexts where they may also be relevant.
Whether you’re looking to develop a pamphlet to explain a clinical process, or aiming to assist women in understanding what normal and excessive bleeding looks like following a medical abortion procedure, this growing library provides an essential resource for communicating about abortion with women and providers.
Please be aware that the images are available for use and adaptation with appropriate attribution. These attribution requirements are described under the Creative Commons license details noted on Gynuity’s website listing.
We hope you will find these images useful in your work and if you have any comments or questions regarding the images, please do let us know in the comments below, or reach out to the Gynuity team via pubinfo@gynuity.org.
